Arg...

I feel I haven't done enough this week-end, though when you look at the list of things accomplished, it's not that bad. The floor of my apartment is so clean you can eat on it, the laundry is done, and my dissertation is 4 pages longer.. I also found the time to go out for diner/movie with a friend Saturday night... It's just that when I look at all the things that need to be done by the end of May, I have the feeling that I'm not going to be ready on time. Aaaaah the delicate balance between meeting deadlines and not burning out :)

Another wonderful week-end in Oregon

There is something magic about chasing the sun 35,000 feet above sea level on a Thursday evening to surprise friends in Oregon. Jim's Recognition Ceremony was last Friday (it was about time...) and I was lucky enough to find a seat on the last Thursday flight :)
The photos are here.

Back in research mode

Last week was pretty shitty for different reasons, but it definitely feels good to get back to my research. I haven't taken any break after the Quals as I still have some momemtum going. I'm just taking it a little easier during week-ends :) I have a couple of papers that I'm trying to get out and I'm still planning on proposing by the end of the summer. I'm excited, trying to make progress on other aspects of my life, and planning some trips in the US and abroad. As for now, I'll be in Washington D.C. in June, Ireland, France and Switzerland in July, Alaska in September and Costa Rica in December. And in between, I'll be glued to my computer, trying to bring my contribution to the field. Research and travel plans, it feels pretty good :D
