Tired

The drive to Atlanta was fairly short. 11 hours door to door, 3 pit stops and I haven’t heard of any speeding ticket so far. Driving thru Ohio was boring to death but Kentucky and Tennessee were actually very nice and a lot different from what I was expecting. I moved in Sunday afternoon and by Sunday evening I already went twice to Ikea. I don’t know how many boxes I lifted in the last 4 days. It’s really tough when you’re alone to do everything. I have been running everywhere, from campus to the insurance company, etc… And I’m really tired. Tonite I moved the 15 boxes that were sitting in one my professor’s office. 6 of them were from France and the remaining ones were from Oregon. It’s weird to open boxes you closed more than a year ago. The past and memories are kind of jumping at your face. I think I’m getting tired of moving all time, tired of saying good bye to friends, tired of moving my mess all over the states when it’s not across the Atlantic. I’m feeling home sick but I don’t even know where home is. Transition periods always screw your mind and spirit.
Anyway, I guess it’s just a matter of time and that things will be better when I’m totally settled down.

The 2:45am update

Early morning live from the FXB building: my first draft is advancing nicely and should be on my advisor's desk monday in the day. Still working on the Methods and Results/Discussion sections and I hope to be done in a few hours. It's great to work during the night but it's amazing how night time flies faster than day time.

My last week-end in Michigan...

or how to write 30 pages in 2 days... so let see, assuming 6 hours of sleep per night plus 2 extra hours for shower, meals and driving, it gives us 32 hours of actual work... So about 1 page per hour... Man, it's going to be tight!

A few pics

Here are a few pics before I find the time to put them all online (it's a bit of a rush right now...).

Tuesday and wednesday nights: everybody moved down to the basement - the only place in the house where you could sleep and be sure to be still alive the next morning...

Week-end of the 22nd and 23rd of July: the trip to the North of Michigan and the Upper-Peninsula... Gorgeous ;)

and I found the house of my dreams: right on the beach!

Saturday nite, the last miles before sunset...

The things you have to do to shoot the sunset....

A happy (wet) girl ;)
