I actually flew to Atlanta last week-end and spent 3 days there. I met some of the French people living there and it reminded me of Le Cercle (used to be the name of the French connection in Corvallis, OR). I found an apartment pretty quickly and spent the rest of the week-end touring the city and shopping. I also met my future advisor and had a chat with one my former OSU professor who moved to GT. All my boxes from France finally made it to Georgia even if they look like they have been used as projectiles in Iraq... So it was a nice week-end and I have to admit that I was pretty surprised by the city. Once you're 2-3 miles away from downtown, it's actually really nice and quiet. There are a lot of trees everywhere and nice parks and restaurants. I posted some pics here.
I came back to AA on sunday and since then I working my butt off to finish a big chunck of my work before my advisor comes back from Asia. Hopefully I'll be able to take the week-end off for my birthday and drive myself to the north of Michigan. I heard it's very nice over there so I'm planning on going camping and hicking some time before the end of my internship... Time just flies so fast.
So things are going OK on both sides of the Atlantic and my projects are moving forward. I don't really have nothing to complain about besides the stupid emails I receive since an Italian opened his mouth on a soccer field!
