Diving, departure... nope Defense ! I'm in the last straight line (at least I think ;)). It's weird to think that the project I have been working on will finally comes to an end... And that the end is getting REALLY close ! What's next ? Well... more work ;) I'm going to write one or two papers with Jim on my thesis work... That should be a very good experience and this will keep me busy as well. And working with Jim is pretty cool too... Who said "work addicted" ???
But for now I need to work on the seminar Max and I will give next week. I have a pretty good idea of what I want to say... I just need to organize my thoughts. And since I am stuck here with a black ankle (who said a soft ball was "soft"), I am going to have plenty of time to work on it.
When I came back home last night I realized I have a fridge (yes I still remember where I live) and that it was empty... So this morning I went to do some shopping.... I spent way more than I should have but I enjoyed comimg back to some kind of normal life... I though spending the WE in Corvallis will be depressing (compared to the fun I had last WE) but so far it gave me time to do all the stuff I don't have the time (or the will) to do during the week.
So last WE I went diving to Mike's beach (Hood Canal, WA) with the OSU Adavenced Open Water class. We had two Brits (girls) in the van... They were SO LOUD... They talked all the way to Hoodsport and when you think about it, that's about 5 hours. I was sitting in front of them, with my music on and there was no way I could listen to it.... Anyway they were fun with their british accent and I was very amazed with their ability to say "fuck" every two or three words... The WE was awesome... Cressey and Lance spent a lot time giving Max a hard time about his navigation skills (OK, I admit that I helped them a bit ;)) The dives were not that great since there was not much to see and that the viz was very bad but I learned a lot on the deep dive when I had to bring back two students from 92 feet. The way back to Corvallis was fun too. And I experienced for the fisrt time a "baby-carrot battle" on I-5 between the van and Cressey's truck at 80 mph... Not very smart, ok but a great moment ;) The pics will come soon.
